Orbeo has signed an agreement to purchase OneCarbon International B.V. from Econcern N.V.

The acquisition will reinforce Orbeo's carbon offset sourcing activities and also allow it to extend its service offer to emission reduction project developers and owners.

Concerning the project, some of the social activities, such as the construction of an educational café, are directly enabled through sale of carbon credits. Thus, purchasing recently issued Gold Standard VERs coming from this project will thus not only contribute to solving climate change issues, but also benefit the local economy and society.

Two Turkish wind farms with a combined capacity of 70 MW have become the first to achieve Gold Standard Voluntary Emissions Reduction (VER) certification. The first Gold Standard VER carbon credits to be generated have been issued to organisations wanting to voluntarily offset their emissions. The wind farms will produce 164,000 Gold Standard VER credits a year.
